Geopolymers Based on Mechanically Activated Fly Ash Blended with Dolomite
نویسندگان
چکیده
This study reports the effect of natural dolomite addition to fly ash and mechanical activation this blend on geopolymerization process. Dolomite was replaced with at 1, 3, 5, 10 wt.%. Geopolymers were synthesized ambient temperature using NaOH solution as an alkaline agent. The process, reactivity raw material, compressive strength, microstructure studied X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, scanning electron microscopy. It shown that blending improved geopolymer especially during early age curing. For geopolymers prepared a 90% + 10% cured for 7 d, strengths 8.2-, 2.3-, 1.4-fold higher than those 100% FA 30 s, 180 400 s milling times, respectively. A simple method evaluating increments activation, carbonate additives, synergistic in increase strength composite is proposed.

Microstructural Characteristics of Geopolymers Based on Alkali-Activated Fly Ash
Aluminosilicate geopolymers with a high silica molar ratio have been prepared by mixing Croatian coal-ash (ASTM Class F) and sodium silicate solution (water glass, technical grade). The samples were cured at 85 °C for 8 h and 24 h in different experimental conditions. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS) have been use...

The low-level salt waste (LAW) associated with the production of nuclear materials at US Department of Energy (DOE) facilities will be disposed of in shallow land burial sites managed by the DOE. Two of the primary contaminants of interest are Tc-99 and I-129, both soluble and long-lived radionuclides. Cs-137, a short-lived, strong gamma emitter is also a soluble contaminant of concern. In addi...
متن کاملThermal Behaviour of Metakaolin/Fly Ash Geopolymers with Chamotte Aggregate
Geopolymers are generally appreciated for their good resistance against high temperatures. This paper compares the influence of thermal treatment with temperatures ranging from 200 to 1200 °C on the mechanical properties and microstructure of geopolymers based on two different aluminosilicate precursors, metakaolin and fly ash. Moreover, the paper is also aimed at characterizing the effect of c...
متن کاملEffect of Fly Ash Fineness on Sorption Properties of Geopolymers Based On Liquid Glass
Abstract—Fly ash (FA) thanks to the significant presence of SiO2 and Al2O3 as the main components is a potential raw material for geopolymers production. Mechanical activation is a method for improving FA reactivity and also the porosity of final mixture; those parameters can be analysed through sorption properties. They have direct impact on the durability of fly ash based geopolymer mortars. ...
